It’s Guy Fawkes on Thursday 5 November and of course that means some people will letting off fireworks around the city. You can’t let them off in just anywhere though and the City Of Cape Town has designated 12 official places you can do so legally.
Two places that were allowed last year have been removed from the list. Namely Sunrise Beach an Theo Marais park in Milnerton.
Here are the places that have been approved though.
Tourism Centre, Athens Road, Table View beachfront
Wesfleur sports field, Reygersdal Drive, Atlantis
Bishop Lavis sports field, Lavis Drive, Bishop Lavis
Metropolitan sports grounds, Melkhout Street, Bonteheuwel
Delft Central sports grounds, Main Road, Delft
Swartklip sports complex, Swartklip Road, Mitchells Plain
Athlone Stadium parking area (eastern side), Klipfontein Road, Athlone
Maiden’s Cove parking area, Victoria Road, Camps Bay
Strandfontein Pavilion, Strandfontein
Sarepta sports complex
Blue Downs sports field
Macassar Beach parking area, Macassar Road, Macassar
The cut-off time for discharging fireworks on Guy Fawkes is 11pm. Don’t be a tool and let them off at your house. Think of the dogs and other animals.
